PALMYRA, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – CVEC subsidiary Firefly Fiber Broadband has announced a milestone 30,000 connections across Central Virginia.

Fireflly was formed by Central Virginia Electric Cooperative to connect more central Virginia rural residents to such badly needed service.

A company release says “the alignment of the Fourth of July holiday and the 30,000 milestone presented the perfect opportunity to celebrate the freedoms that fiber broadband brings: a fast, reliable and affordable connection for business, education, telehealth and work from home opportunities”.

Firefly hosted a party this past week on Carter Mountain they called the Broadband Independence Bash to commemorate the achievement.
