PALMYRA (WINA) – Students at Central Elementary  School in Fluvanna County sent home because of a power outage in the west wing of the school this (Friday) morning. Dominion Energy Virginia and the Maintenance Department were unable to return power to the school before 9:45am, so the students are getting an early start to their weekend.

Buses were sent to pick up students by 11:10, and parents and caretakers advised that based on attendance and students being picked up early due to the lack of power, these routes might be running faster than normal. Families will need to check with their individual daycare providers to see if they are accepting early arrivals.

There will be no Extended Education this afternoon.

Again, this is Central Elementary in Fluvanna only.
