CHARLOTTESVILLE (WINA) – A couple of weekends ago, the Charlottesville Albemarle SPCA did a reduced fee adoption weekend for adult dogs… but starting Tuesday, they’re going for more than a month to ZERO adoption fee. CASPCA interim executive director Sue Friedman says they said a month ago and they still are… they are full. She says they need to do a better job of finding their dogs loving forever homes, and they’d like to be able once again to provide transfer and rescue services.

Starting August 22 through September 30, CASPCA will be charging no adoption or medical costs for all dogs adopted ages 6-months and older. That’s $200 in adoption fees zeroed out, as well as medical services such as vaccination, spaying/neutering and microchipping which is an additional $500.

The SPCA is open for walk-in appointments Tuesday through Thursday from 12-4 pm and Friday through Sunday from 12-6PM. Appointments can also be scheduled by emailing “adoptions@caspca.org”. All dogs currently available for adoption can be found here.
