CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – It’s going to be dangerously hot today with an excessive heat watch in effect from noon today until 8pm, and record high temperatures on tap for the weekend. Friday air temperatures getting up to 97, but the NewsRadio WINA Accuweather Real Feel is 102.  Accuweather forecasts temperatures Saturday reaching 102, breaking a record 101 set in 1933. The Sunday forecast is a high of 101, breaking the record 97 set in 1988. Accuweather Real Feel Saturday is 108, and Sunday 105-to-107.

The weather service urges to drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles as car interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes.
We may get some rain Sunday night, but it will not be much and will be absorbed quickly. Temperatures pushing 100 or more continue through Wednesday, with no relief until Thursday.
